Flying Frenzyalternative Flog (Flightsim Blog) of Francois 'Navman' Dumas February 03 ESP apparently a 'hot' topic !Judging from the almost 500 visitors who hit my Blog yesterday ( http://flightsimplaza.com/fsblog ) after my article on ESP and Phil Taylor.... I am thinking of opening a dedicated forum for it on simFlight, so we will not confound 'regular' issues anymore ..... Francois January 30 Lysander is progressing at last.....Folks, I've been off-line for a bit due to health problems. The old migraines again. But back again now and with some good news for our flightsim community. Contacts with our aircraft builders were re-established (they had some internal problems.... don't we all!?) about the delays in building. They assured me the troubles are over and we should have a working model ready this week. Crossing fingers !! Whereas we could only show a mesh model a few months ago, and after some unexpected delays, there is progress in the building of our Lysander, FSAddon's FIRST aircraft. As you can see texturing is now almost completed (this is a copy of the aircraft as it is flying out of Old Warden's Shuttleworth collection!). Next it will go into the workshop to get a proper (FSX) flight model, made by none other than Rob Young.
My plan is still to have the model ready for sale on the Key Publishing 'World of Aviation' event in Old Warden, end of April. More on that soon ! January 24 My 'Flog'Since I already HAVE a 'Blog' (i.e. weBlog) I figured I can't have another one. So I dubbed this bit of writing on MS's server my 'Flog', which is short for Flightsim Blog. Who knows, I might start a whole new rage here ! (Not that many people know to find me in these spaces yet). I also downloaded and installed Live writer. Works fine and an interesting addition. Now if only I'd have more time to 'discover' all the wonders of yet another blog system...... :-) Happy Flying (off to try the JustFlight Robinson R44 !) January 20 'Death to the Pirates'......???An interesting thread evolved on simFlight (see here) about the pros and cons of trying to stem the illegal distribution of (FS) software. Although I have my own rather skeptical view on the effectiveness of any such actions, I am willing to give any new initiative the benefit of the doubt. Personally I'd rather just get on with my work, not having ANY time left, nor money to spend, and just make sure we deliver stellar products and stellar support. In my view that is what it takes to get and KEEP customers who are actually willing to pay for our products/services. I think the pirated FS add-ons are usually there just because they happen to be on the market, NOT because the pirates (or many of the prating 'customers') are really interested in it. That's the ADVANTAGE of being in a niche market (one of the few, I might add ;-)). We'll see what comes of it, if anything...... no try no win I suppose. January 18 Better post something then, eh?Installed the new Windows Live writer...... after I found that I had this (additional) MS Blog here on Live Spaces. Too much to keep track of it all, really, but since some of my friends are using MS stuff, I'd better provide for some contact. Lets see what Live Writer does... providing I can get it to work (being re-known for fumbling with anything PC-wise). January 25 Oops !!Heck, I didn't KNOW I had this blog, honestly ! Some clever MS program must have made it for me when I wasn't looking !
